Five for Friday ~ June 27th!

HAPPY FRIDAY!
Today I'm linking up with Doodle Bugs Teaching for her 'Five for Friday' linky!

On Wednesday I had the pleasure of meeting two of my new teammates for next year!  We had lunch together and got to have some good discussions as well as get to know each other a little better.  I am very excited to work with these ladies next year!

Today my daughter and I went with her daycare that she goes to two days a week during the summer to the Orr Family Farm!  It is a cute little farm with a petting zoo, playgrounds, zipline, train, and even a pumpkin patch in the fall.  Here are some pics of my baby girl from today!

My husband and I have become obsessed with the Discovery Channel show 'Naked and Afraid'!  The premise of the show is honestly pretty stupid, so I must admit that we only really like it because we get to laugh at dirty, naked people running around and trying to chop snakes heads off.  Sounds weird, but I swear it's funny!  Check it out if you haven't already!

On Sunday my family went to the Oklahoma City Zoo and had a blast!

The hubby and I!
My mom touching a sting ray!
Olivia!

After my lunch with my new teammates this week I finally got motivated to start preparing for next school year!  To begin, of course I got on Pinterest!  So now I have a list a mile long of things to create for next year!  I am starting to get excited! YAY!

Thanks for reading!

Tried and True & Positive Thinking Thursday

Today I am linking up with two fun Thursday linky parties!
First, I am linking up with the Teaching Tribune for her 'Tried and True' Thursday linky!
Then it's 'Positive Thinking Thursday' with Mrs. Laffin's Laughings!

This is something that I have tried and has proven true, and this post can also be considered a throw back Thursday post because I have written about it before!  In fact, it was my most viewed blog entry ever!  Check it out HERE!

CLASS DOJO!
It is an app that not only I love, but my students love as well!  It is a behavior management app on which you can give and take away points for positive and negative student behavior.  You can track students points anywhere, since you can have the app on your phone, ipad or computer.  You can give and take away points from individual students or the whole class.  Students get to choose their own avatars and parents can even track student progress online.  It was a wonderful tool for me last year, as I had a super rough class!  I highly suggest you checking it out!  It has proven itself to me as the perfect classroom management tool!

Now a little somethin' for Positive Thinking Thursday!

I am enough.

Today I am linking up with The Teaching Tribune for her Two For Tuesday linky party!
I have two of my (already super cheap) products 50% off!

1.  Decimal Multiplication SCOOT/Task Cards is a great tool for helping students practice multiplying with decimals while being up and moving around the classroom!

Check it out HERE!

2.  The second product I'm offering for 50% off is my Fractions, Decimals and Mixed Numbers on a Number Line SCOOT/Task Cards!  Ordering Fractions, Decimals and Mixed Numbers is a hard concept for students to master and these cards really helped my students last year!  Hopefully you can get some use out of them as well!

Monday Meet Up!

Hello Blogville!

Today I am linking up for the first time with The Teaching Tribune for her
Monday Meet Up #4 linky party!

1.  The second I hear about a new show or movie that deals with crime/suspense/action I MUST see it! Some of my favorite TV shows are 24: Live Another Day, CSI: Miami, Bones, Castle, The Following, Rookie Blue, Scandal, and Revenge!  Movies are too numerous to even begin to list them!

2.  My school is getting the opportunity next year to departmentalize!  Only a few schools in our district do it and I am super excited that we are going to be able to try it out!  My passion in teaching is Math, so of course I want to teach that.  The other subject I will be teaching is Science.  Now, to be honest, I really have never taught much Science.  Our curriculum is so heavy into reading and math that science just got pushed to the wayside each year.  I am looking forward to teaching math and science this year and to be able to throw my whole heart into teaching just those two subjects!

3.  I desperately want to be tan!  I am not exactly sure why, but I laid out a few times in the beginning of the summer and now I am kind of obsessed!  I don't want to be so dark that I look like I rolled in Doritos or anything, but I just want to have that beautiful, golden glow! I'm almost there!  And it gives me time to myself to read and gather my thoughts.

Well that is my Monday Meet Up for today!  Hope you enjoyed learning a few things about me!

Don't forget to follow me on BlogLovin!  I can't wait to read about you guys!

I'm Back!

It's hard to believe I haven't blogged in 3 months!  To tell you the truth, I had a really rough year last year.  When I blogged I found myself mostly complaining (or wanting to complain) about school, which I knew would only perpetuate my situation, so I stopped altogether. :-(

But it is well into summer now and I'M BACK!

I figured a good way to get back into the swing of things would be to link up with Doodle Bugs for her Five for Friday linky party!  Here we go...

1.  I have always been a reader at heart, but this summer I have been really diving into reading everything possible! Right now I am on my second book by Jodi Picoult!  She is an absolutely incredible author and I loved 'The Pact'.  It is long but absolutely worth the read!  Now I'm reading 'House Rules' and am definitely enjoying it so far!  If you haven't read any books by her I highly suggest it.  My favorites of the summer so far have been the Crossfire Series by Sylvia Day (AMAZING!)  and all 3 books by Gillian Flynn, which absolutely rocked my world!

2.  I am having a blast this summer with my baby girl!  Being at home with her last summer was fun, but this summer she is able to do so much more and I enjoy every minute I spend with her!  Here are a few pics from last week!
Swimming at her great aunt's house!

SO BEAUTIFUL!

Playground Fun

Who doesn't love to lounge around in a ball pit?!

3. I got a sewing machine for Christmas but just over the summer I have finally found time to create a couple of cute projects!  I actually rented quite a few books from the library the other day with tips and tricks for beginners and I've already learned a lot from them.  Here are a few projects I've completed lately!
First dress I made for Olivia!

Keychain wristlet!

DIY Makeup Bags!  My friends is on top (more like a little pencil bag!!) and mine is on bottom!!

Super cute purse I made Friday!

4. I have just found one of the coolest apps of all time!  If you haven't heard of it yet, check out Time Hop!  You can sign in through your Facebook and each day it alerts you when your Time Hop is ready.  It shows you status updates and photos that you posted on that day from previous years!  It has almost brought me to tears a few times when I have seen pics of my baby girl when she was little bitty!  I really love it!

4 years ago today I was preparing for my wedding!

Olivia and I on Father's Day 2 years ago!  She looks so funny!

5. This week the hubby and I have watched a few movies together, and surprisingly I have liked them all!  Here they are...a few are old and a few are newer!

Once again, it feels so good to be back!  I want to get connected again and to get pumped for the new school year!  I just know that this year is going to be soooooo much better than last year!
