Friday Favorites {9-2-16}

Although I've been sick all week and it seems like nothing was too great around here, I still want to share my Friday FAVORITES from this week!
My first FAVORITE is this GIVEAWAY that I am co-hosting with An Apple For The Teacher!  Enter the Rafflecopter HERE for a chance to win at $25 Gift Card to TPT!!!

One of my daily FAVORITES is watching my sweet baby girl do tummy time! She just smiles, roll around and tries to giggle! She's almost got it down! Gawd my heart could just explode with love!

This thing. Guys, this is the read deal. Since I've been under the weather I haven't cooked much, so I stopped in to try out Taco Bell's breakfast, which I had never done before. I got the Breakfast Crunchwrap and it is definitely a new FAVORITE! Any time I decide to break my diet I am definitely heading to Taco Bell for Breakfast!

My FAVORITE lesson I taught this week was a lab with Skittles to walk my students through the scientific method. I feel like it's very important for them to have a good grasp on the scientific method before we begin our actual district curriculum, so we tested the question "Do Skittles dissolve faster in warm or cold water?"  They loved watching the Skittles dissolve!

My absolute FAVORITE thing each day is when I see my beautiful Pre-K baby walking down the hall with her "buckle and bubble"! She is soaking up information like a sponge and I couldn't be happier that I get to see her every day! Love this kid tooooo much!

My FAVORITE moment from this week is when I realized that I've lost 17 lbs since I started my weight loss journey in June! My face really tells the tale!

My last FAVORITE of the week is this recipe my mom made my family the other night when I wasn't feeling well enough to cook: Chicken and Potatoes with Garlic Parmesan Cream Sauce!  I love this recipe so much that I've blogged about it before, but when my mom made it, it tasted even better!   Definitely try this recipe out!

Back to School! Lots of pics!

I was truly SO excited to get back to school! Of course I missed my girls every day, but I enjoyed the routine, the challenge, and getting to know my new kiddos!

Monday morning was our district's convocation and it was awesome! They brought in the drum lines from all three of our high schools and it took me straight back to when I was in high school! This is a pic of me and my teammate and right-hand-man, Mrs. Vann, at convocation!

Tuesday, the second day of "Back to School" for me was a FULL DAY OF PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT.  I literally spent the entire day with this look on my face.
Wednesday morning we had a whole-school meeting in the morning, and then we FINALLY got to work in our rooms in the afternoon! Then that evening we had Meet the Teacher Night! It was so great to see my new kiddos walk through the door with huge smiles on their faces as they got to pick out their seats for the year!  I also got visits from many previous students and that truly made my day!  Get my Back 2 School Pack HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thursday was my baby girls' 1st Day of School!  It went so well! She loved every second of it!  My husband got her donuts and 'pink milk' and had breakfast with her in the cafeteria the first morning.  It was a great day for her, as well as for me and my students!
Breakfast!
Painting! One of her favorite things to do!
Her teacher took this and sent it to me!
Her precious name tag and backpack!
And finally, Friday was field/team-building day and my 29th birthday! My students loved competing against other classes playing fun games like Sharks and Minnows, Over/Under, Relay Tic-Tac-Toe, and Tug of War!
Playing girls against boys tug of war! The boys had to take their shoes off but they still won!
And my incredible husband came to surprise me at school and bring me my gift- A Fitbit Charge HR!  I was so surprised! I absolutely loved it!  And after school we went to dinner at my favorite Mexican restaurant, Teds Escondido!
My husband and I at dinner!
My awesome present!

And lastly, today has been a day of lesson planning and relaxation.  I've gotten to spend a lot of time with my husband and girls and I've loved every minute of it after having such a busy week!  But my favorite moment of the entire week?  This...

Monday Made It Linky!

It has been forever since I've linked up with the Monday Made It Linky, so today I'm excited to show off a few things I made last week!  I used most of these in my classroom the past few years, but just got around to editing them and putting them on TpT, just in time for the big sale!

Each of these 30 Decimal Puzzles has students match the Standard Form, Expanded Form, Word Form and Fraction/Mixed Number together to create a 4 piece puzzle!  I can't wait to use these with my students this year!

Another product I created last week is my Voice Levels Hanging Clip Chart! I love using this in my classroom. When my students need to change their voice levels I simply walk over and move the clip!  Definitely check this out!

It is on the right, sorry it's so blurry!

Another one of my favorites in my classroom is my Hanging Compliment Chain!  Each time my whole class gets a compliment, I put a letter up. When the chain is complete I throw them a Compliment Party!  They love it and it gives them something to work for every day!

Lastly, I have two more products. First is my Classroom Hand Signals Poster, which shows students visually how to ask me if they can get a drink, go to the restroom, or sharpen a pencil.  I love it because my students don't have to yell out these questions 1,000 times a day anymore!

Hand Signals Poster is on the right, and my Classroom Rubric is in the middle!
The last product I wanted to show off today is my Classroom Rubric/Scale of Understanding! I love this because after each lesson I teach I ask my students to refer to this to show me their level of understanding.  I definitely couldn't teach without this thing!

And as everyone knows, the TpT Best Year Ever Sale is going on today and tomorrow, so check out my store because everything is 20% off! And don't forget to use the code BEST YEAR to save even more!

Five for Friday and new TpT products!

Oh, Summer Days.

Shouldn't they be full of relaxing, swimming, reading, laying out, traveling, etc.?
For me, my summer days are anything BUT relaxing!  I love my daughters with every ounce of my heart, but I am definitely ready to get back to school and get back into my routine again!
Does anyone else feel like this? Or am I a total asshole mom fail?!

In my spare time, meaning after my daughters fall asleep and before I am awakened by my 3 month old so she have her midnight meal, I have been working on some TpT products that have saved my sanity in the classroom.  They have worked for me for a few years so I decided to share them on TpT so they can work for you too!

I want to share my newest products and share a little bit about what I've been up to lately by linking up with Doodle Bugs Teaching for her Five for Friday linky!

First up is my Voice Levels Hanging Clip Chart! I love using this in my classroom. Whenever my students need to change their voice level, I simply change the placement of the clothespin on there.
This is a picture of the Voice Levels Clip Chart hanging in my room! It's the one on the right.  I'm sorry the picture is so blurry!

Next up is my Hanging Compliment Chain! This product is perfect for motivating students to do the right thing and get compliments all through out the school!

Don't you just love it when your class is walking in a perfect line down the hallway and they get a compliment from another teacher? What about when the lunchroom monitor tells you that your class had exceptional behavior that day? Here is a way to reward all of those compliments your class gets!

When your class gets a compliment you hang up a letter. Then when they get another, attach the next letter using a binder ring. Once the chain is complete, you throw your students a compliment party! Individual compliments don’t count in my classroom- It must be a compliment that the entire class received!

I use my Classroom Rubric/Scale of Understanding  after every lesson I teach.  I use this rubric to help students evaluate their own understanding of a concept by having them rate their understanding using the numbers on the scale.

This is a picture of the Rubric and my Hand Signals Poster, which I talk about below!

And another product from the picture above is my Hand Signals Poster!  Use this simple Hand Signals Poster in your classroom so students can visually signal the question instead of shouting it out!   Any time my students need to use the restroom, get a drink of water, or sharpen their pencil, they simply use a hand signal so I don't have to hear those questions 1,000 times a day!

And lastly, my 6 year wedding anniversary is this Sunday!  We have been together for over 12 years and I have loved (almost) every second of it!  We are planning on going to dinner and spending the night in a hotel attached to a casino!  I love me some gambling, and I am super excited to have a date night!

That's it for now!
