Peek at my Week! {7-13-14}

Today I'm linking up with Mrs. Laffin's Laughings for her 'A Peek at my Week' linky party!  I have so many plans for the upcoming week and it will be good for me to start getting them all
together in my head!

~The first thing that I want to do this week is do some shopping for our upcoming trip to South Padre Island, TX! We will be staying at the Schlitterbahn and can't wait!  I haven't been there for over 10 years and I can't wait to let my daughter have her first beach experience!  SO EXCITING!!!

Pic of the resort!  It's huge and right on the beach!

~Secondly, I am still planning on making my Pinterest cover boards very soon!  I've been planning on getting started on them, but for some reason I cannot remember which blogger posted the tutorial on how to do it properly!!!  If someone remembers PLEASE let me know! I want to be sure to do it right!!!

~And I have quite a few TpT products I am wanting to create this week, if I have the time, of course!  I want to make a new teacher binder, word wall letters, and some more task cards.  I just love creating that stuff and I really enjoy using Adobe Illustrator.  My husband has been a great teacher to me!

~Temps this week in OK are supposed to be MUCH cooler than they have been lately, thank God!  It has been around 100 degrees this past week and weekend.  I can't handle that kind of heat!  I am looking forward to a nice week where I can play outside with my daughter without worrying about having a heat stroke!

Oh, and of course, I cannot wait for True Blood tonight!  AAAHHHHHHH!!!! #iheartvampires #truetilltheend

Five for Friday 6-11-14

TGIF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am so thankful that today is Friday!  I wait every week for Friday to get here because that means I get the next two days with my hubby!  I miss him so much during the week!

Just had to post this pic of my husband and I!  Love that man!

And now here are my 5 for Friday!

Last Saturday we began our kitchen makeover and we are pretty much finished!  It seemed like it took forever but I am really happy with the results.  We 'antiqued' our original cabinets.  They were a medium brown wood stain to begin with.  We had to wash the cabinets, sand them, paint them white (2 coats), antique them, and then paint them with polyurethane to protect them from wear and tear.  It was a long process, especially during the hottest week of the summer thus far, but we LOVE the outcome!

Here is a before and after pic of the cabinets themselves.

And here is a pic of what our entire kitchen looks like after the change!  No more ugly brown! (PLEASE ignore our counters!  Haven't had time to give them a proper clean or put all materials away!)  And we haven't yet put the faux drawer over the scalloping under the stove yet.

Despite how busy I was all week with the kitchen, I had time to make my most favorite TpT product yet!  2x1 digit Multiplication with Self-Checking QR Codes!  Great for a math center or to be used as a whole class SCOOT game!  Students love it because they get to work out the problem and then immediately scan the QR Code (directions included) to see if they got the answer correct!  It makes learning fun!  Check it out HERE!  And be sure to follow my TpT Store!

Today is my dad's 66th birthday!  I cannot wait to celebrate with him!

#bestdadever!

Papa and Livi!
My dad with my sister and I!

I began organizing my Pinterest boards this week and this weekend (if I can find some spare time) I plan on creating my cover photos for my boards!  I've seen a few tutorials on it and I'm really excited to do it!!!  Follow my Pinterest HERE!!!

SCHOOL SUPPLIES!!!!  I went to Walmart this week and they are all 'schooled-out' already!  Tons of school supplies everywhere! I figured I needed to pick up a few supplies while they are still available because every year they end up running out of exactly what I need.  I didn't get any pics, but I have a huge bag of the supplies I bought somewhere in this house!  Go get yours before they're all gone!

Thanks for dropping by! I love comments!

Saturday Snapshots - 4th of July!

Today I am linking up with Run! Miss Nelson's Got the Camera! for her Saturday Snapshot linky party to tell you a little bit about my weekend!

Her first sparkler!  Got the solo cup idea off of Pinterest, of course! #safetyfirst

Her first time actually 'swimming' without anyone holding her! She did an incredible job! I couldn't believe it!

To preface the next pic, I want to share the easy-peasy recipe for my favorite sweet/salty treat, "Patriotic Pretzels"!

**I bought mini M&M's and medium M&M's, white bakers chocolate, pretzels, and red sprinkles!

   1.  Sort bags of M&M's.  Put all the red and blue in a separate dish.  (Time consuming, but
worth it because the red and blue look soooo cute for the 4th of July!!!)
   2.  Lay out pretzles on wax paper in a single layer.
   2.  Melt bakers chocolate. (Make sure you do it very slowly.  I have never had good luck with
bakers chocolate and I over-heated the first batch I made.)
   3.  Drizzle melted chocolate over pretzels.
   4.  Sprinkle the sprinkles all over the pretzels.
   5.  Drop M&M's on the pretzels.
   6.  Let dry and devour the deliciousness!!!!!!

NOM NOM!!!!!!!!

I was feeling lucky when I was at the store and just had to buy some scratch-offs!  My feeling unfortunately didn't pan out...

My ADORABLE 4th of July outfit!  I got it at Target and it was sooo comfy!
My super cute shoes I wore with my dress!  These are seriously the most comfortable wedges I've ever owned!  Love me some Payless sales!
And of course I just had to get Baby O some cute shoes when I got my pair!  The tennis shoes and sandals light up!
And last but note least, my Time Hop for the day!  I cannot believe how much my beautiful little girl has grown the past two years!  She gets more precious (and ornery) every day! I am such a lucky momma!

My family and I had a fantastic 4th of July, with great friends, family, food and fireworks! I hope yours was fantastic as well!

Did you hit up any 4th of July sales?!  Let me know in the comments!
Thanks!

Linky Parties Galore!

I am linking up with two awesome blogs today!
First up is What i'm Wearing Wednesday linky with Ideas by Jivey

Because of all of the Old Navy commercials talking about their sales I had to hit them up for some online shopping the other night!  Yesterday I received my order and I LOVE the 3 dresses I got!  They are in the washer right now or else I would totally post a selfie in one of them!  But here are pics of them!

These two are exactly the same except the color, of course!  They are super flattering!
Old Navy $12 each

This dress is flattering as well and is much brighter than in the pic.  It's more neon pink! I love it!
Old Navy $8

And now for Wordless Wednesday with Sugar and Spice!

This is my Summertime guilty pleasure, for sure!  I know it's a bunch of vampires, fairies and witchcraft, but I still enjoy it WAY more than I should! And this is the last season so I will have to find another show to look forward to next summer!

Do you have any Summertime TV show guilty pleasures??

I love reading your comments!
