Best First Day Ever!

This morning I am linking up with Doodle Bugs for her Five for Friday Linky!

Yesterday was my first day back to school with kids and it was an absolute blast!
I loved (almost) every second of it!  It was also my 28th birthday!

These are the adorable packets that I made for our Meet The Teacher night, which was on Wednesday.  I had also made a little magnet with my contact info for parents to stick on their refrigerators and a little treat for my students! I got the cute tag for the startburst from Fourth and Ten!
This was one of my greatest Pinterest finds of the summer- A fool proof way to organize student supplies when they come in with backpacks overloaded with paper and kleenex and all the other goodies!  I simply found some old boxes in our storage room and put signs on them.  The kiddos came in and I sent them directly over to the 'supply wall' and they dumped their supplies in the correct box.  Genius!!!!

I am a Diet Pepsi freak! And an Oncue Freak! I love that it has a drive-thru and I don't have to get out of my car!  #lazy  But the coolest thing was that on my first day of school (and my bday) I got my drink for free! It's the little things in life!
This is an absolutely adorable sign that my wonderful mother-in-law made me for my birthday! She is so crafty!  It is hanging on my bulletin board right next to my desk ! I love it!
And lastly, I had to add the picture of the HOMEMADE sugar cookie cake with HOMEMADE icing that my mom made me for my birthday! It was soooo delicious! I'll have to get the recipe from her and share it with you guys!

Welp, that's my Five for Friday! I better leave for school now!

My Classroom- Take a Peek!

Here is my classroom!  I'm so glad that I got in early and got it done before teacher's report tomorrow!  I am currently enjoying my last day of summer by lounging around watching How I Met Your Mother re-runs!  Goodbye, summertime!

P.S.-I have no idea why my pictures are so blurry!

I use the green pocket chart for my math center rotations.
The Scientific Method posters!
My "I Can" statement headers!
Our Behavior Process, Rubric and Hand Signals!
How I Get Home sign and Voice Levels
Compliments Chain! Every time my students get a compliment they get to hang a letter up! When they get every letter I give them a compliment party!
I file my student's completed work in here!
All of my science materials and math centers lined up on my shelf!
Love our triangle desks!

Hope you enjoyed!

Last Monday Made it of Summer!

I'm super excited to be linking up with 4th Grade Frolics for my last MMI of the Summer! Time has flown by but I'm super duper excited to start school again!
I needed a new chair in my classroom to sit at when I'm at my document camera, my laptop, etc.  I asked my hubby to buy some spray paint and paint one of our old bar stools! All I have to do now is get a cute little cushion for it and I will be set!
#besthusbandever
One of my teammates texted me a pic of some business cards she made to give to parents to put on their refrigerators at home so they don't lose our contact info!  Of course I had to steal her idea and make my own! I can't wait until our lamination is on the roll tomorrow so I can laminate my little heart out!
This past week I blogged about using Data Folders in my classroom and how I do it.  I think it's sooo important to have data folders for each student so I am going to share this post again!

Yay Monday!

Homemade Pizza Rolls! (My very favorite thing!)

This weekend we had some friends over and I decided to make my favorite finger food-

Homemade Pizza Rolls!
Below is my recipe!
 Ingredients:
1 lb. hamburger meat
1.5 cups cheddar cheese
Garlic and Herb Pasta Sauce, or your favorite kind (use as much as you want)
1 pack egg roll wrappers cut in half diagonally
3 tbsp. Cornstarch
1 cup Water
*You also need wax paper and a fryer

Directions::
Cook your hamburger meat in a skillet.  Put in a bowl in the refrigerator to cool down.
When the meat is cooled, add the cheese and sauce.

 Cut your egg roll wrappers.
Combine cornstarch and water in a bowl and mix.

Grab one egg roll wrapper, and lay it down on wax paper as you see in the picture below.
Place a small amount of the cornstarch/water mixture across the long, top portion of the wrapper.
Put a spoonful of the meat mixture in the middle of the wrapper.

Roll up wrapper from the bottom.

Fold left side over.
Then fold right side over.
Do one final flip and make sure the flaps are nice and sealed (or else you will have leakage in your fryer)

Fry them delicious babies up until they float!

I love to dip them in the leftover pasta sauce!
Enjoy!!!!

What I've Read - What You Should Be Reading!

I heart reading. I am obsessed with it. I can sit down with a good book for hours on end and love every moment of it.

The best thing that has ever happened to me is my Kindle. And second in line is my subscription to Kindle Unlimited.  I can read tons of books for free, and I get a discount on the books that aren't free. I live for my Kindle!

Because of that I have decided that I want to blog about the books I read- just little tidbits about them to encourage you to pick them up and give them a try!

Up First::  A Tracers Trilogy by Laura Griffin
A group of forensic experts (The Tracers)
who help homicide detectives solve cold cases.
MYSTERY ♦ SUSPENSE ♦ ROMANCE ♦ ACTION ♦ SCIENCE
Everything you want is found in this trilogy.

Up Next::  The Crossfire Series by Sylvia Day
Gideon and Eva captured my heart far more than Christian and Ana did.  This series knocks 50 Shades out of the park for me and there's a fifth book coming out in the near future!
I can't wait!

This is an excerpt from Bared to You from the website:
Gideon Cross came into my life like lightning in the darkness…He was beautiful and brilliant, jagged and white-hot. I was drawn to him as I’d never been to anything or anyone in my life. I craved his touch like a drug, even knowing it would weaken me. I was flawed and damaged, and he opened those cracks in me so easily…Gideon knew. He had demons of his own. And we would become the mirrors that reflected each other’s most private wounds… and desires. The bonds of his love transformed me, even as I prayed that the torment of our pasts didn’t tear us apart…
Please check these books out!  They are totally worth the read!
